Entrepreneurship in the field of Real Estate is the first level professional higher education programme.

Having joined the European Union, Latvia chose to create a highly educated, professionally-trained society, which is able to be competitive, to promptly respond to opportunities and threats that might arise in business environment and to actualize the concepts of contemporary entrepreneurship most relevant to the current situation in Latvia.

Intensive development of real estate business in Latvia creates a necessity for higher education. Such skills, as sale and evaluation of property, arrangement of deals, procurement of mortgage and investment management capabilities have become crucial for any aspiring entrepreneur.

In order to become a professional in the field of real estate, one must master three different specializations, which are provided by our accredited first level professional higher study programme:

• Real Estate Management
• Property Evaluation

During a two-year period of study the students study such disciplines, as Enterprise Economics, Real Estate Management, Property Evaluation, Property Insurance, Real Estate Settlements, Book Keeping, Computer Science, Latvian in business usage and other foreign languages, Engineering Services, Renovation Techniques, Commerce, Jurisprudence and Communication Psychology.

The study programme encompasses the following:

• Subjects,
• Practical training
• Qualification (Diploma) theses

Having mastered the study program, the student has all the necessary knowledge and qualification in order to run a real estate related business. The acquired qualification enables the graduates to organize, coordinate and manage the entrepreneurial activity of a business, as well as to provide business-related services to both State institutions and privately owned enterprises.

The study process has been designed to give students of all specializations identical knowledge during the first year. The choice of a specialization is made at the end of the second term. The Professional Specialization is implemented during the second year of study which grants 40 credit points as in the previous year. In the second year of studies the students do practical training, pass state examinations workout and defend theses.

Having finished the Entrepreneurship in the field of Real Estate study programme the graduates can continue their studies as third course students of bachelor’s degree study programme “Entrepreneurial activity Management” at the Information System Management Institute.

Course Duration:

• Full Time—2 years (morning and evening form),
  
• Part Time—2 years and 6 months.

Awarded Qualification: Entrepreneurial (Commercial) Activity Specialist.
