Hospitality management is a Specialization of an accredited Professional Bachelor’s Degree Study Programme “Business Administration in Tourism”.
Hospitality industry is one of the most perspective and dynamically developing fields of Latvian national economy. It corresponds to the requirements of the young people to obtain modern education for successful professional growth.
Study programme Hospitality management foresees three study categories:
- Professional development, which includes the following study courses:
- Introduction to Hotel and Restaurant Management,
- Fundamentals of Hotel Organization,
- Catering Industry,
- Quality Standards of Hotel Industry,
- Registration Technique,
- Psychology and Sociology of Hotel Industry, etc.;
- Technology and Hospitality Management Technique includes the following study courses:
- Information Technologies,
- Accountancy,
- Micro/Macro Economics,
- Marketing,
- Legislation,
- Commerce ethics, etc.;
- Culture includes general education and cultural courses, as well as English with other foreign languages.
Each study category provides students with necessary skills and requirements, and also opportunities of career growth in the sphere of hospitality industry. The acquisition of the study programme Hospitality management encompasses lectures, practical exercises, students’ autonomous work, including professional practical trainings, preparations of course and diploma theses. The study programme provides a manager with requirements of tourists, cross-cultural knowledge and high quality of hospitality and service skills to meet the guests from different countries. This knowledge and skills are necessary to work for any local or international enterprises. The experts in the field of Hospitality management are able to run hotels and restaurants, catering industry, to organize an effective service and to work for marketing departments as well as consultancy agencies.
Course Duration:
- Full Time—4 years (morning and evening form),
- Part Time—4 years and 6 months.
Awarded Degree: Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Awarded Qualification: Business Administrator in Tourism.
