In the summer of 2024, I had the incredible opportunity to complete my Erasmus+ internship in Kos, Greece. I spent the first half working in the bar department and the second half as an assistant manager in operations. This hands-on experience provided me with a deep understanding of hotel management, from customer service to operations.
Beyond professional growth, my time in Kos was a rich cultural experience. I enhanced my communication and leadership skills while working with colleagues and guests from diverse backgrounds. The opportunity to build a global network, including friends from the USA, Canada, South Africa, and Germany, was invaluable.
Exploring Kos, enjoying Greek cuisine, and immersing myself in local traditions made this experience even more special. Every moment felt like an adventure, adding to both my personal and professional development.
I am incredibly grateful to my Erasmus coordinator, Karina Lazareva, and everyone who made this experience possible. This internship has equipped me with essential industry knowledge and lasting memories. I highly encourage students to pursue an internship abroad—it is a life-changing experience that fosters both personal and professional growth.
